What are the signs and symptoms that someone is addicted to cocaine?

Answered By Xander Adamson, Editor

When a person is addicted to cocaine their symptoms may include behaviors such as drastic changes in mood and in personality. Cocaine users often find themselves with dangerous and thoughtless behaviors, engaging in activities that they might not have done otherwise. As for physical symptoms, sniffling, bloody noses, runny noses and dilated pupils are all signs that a person is using cocaine. If these symptoms persist or become more frequent, chances are the person has become addicted to cocaine. Increased paranoia, anxiety and changes in eating and sleeping patterns are also characteristic of cocaine abuse or addiction. As is the case with other drug addictions, cocaine is characterized by a tolerance and dependence on the drug.
